Elizabeth Stratton: Spanish Teacher

SONY DSCElizabeth has lived in the Brockville area for over thirty years.  She grew up in Jamaica and has lived in the U.S., Mexico and the Bahamas.

Among other subjects, Elizabeth taught Spanish at St. Lawrence College for many years, with the Continuing Education Dept. of the Public School Board and at the secondary school level overseas.

Elizabeth stepped forward as a SWC volunteer Spanish instructor this Fall.  She finds the SWC group is enthusiastic, committed and lots of fun to work with.  She stated, “Most of them are hoping to travel to a Spanish-speaking country next year, so they are motivated to learn.”

Welcome aboard Elizabeth you are a gift to the SWC team.  Gracias por su ayuda!

Pickle Ball and Post Pads

Photo shows one of the two Pickleball courts in the WSUC gym. Also the padding we recently purchased to cushion any collisions with the metal posts supporting the mezzanine.

Thank you to participant Frank Condron for helping us to source what we needed. The pads certainly add a touch of bright colour to the gym as well as protecting our enthusiastic players of this new game.
